CNN does not deserve him. I hope their ratings CONTINUE to tank! I can hear the progressives and La Raza singing for joy...

Still sickened this morning... the stealth and deception I witnessed last night.

Before I go on, let me state that I am NOT BEING insensitive to millions of Americans with no health care. MANY, MANY Americans...including yours truly...are just one health care catastrophe away from total disaster. It is a given that the health care system in this country needs to be overhauled. I am not opposed to that. What I AM opposed to, however, is that overhaul not only being served to me on a Socialist plate, but having something rammed down my throat. Moreover, the people doing the ramming have no idea what it even entails! Simply maddening...

So much for Pelosi's promise to have the bill available for 72 hours on the net. So much for ANY promise the progressives have made. What I witnessed late last night on C-Span made me grieve for my country.

At least, for now, the abortion funding provision of the bill was voted down. And the bill itself passed by such a narrow margin, Pelosi and her poodles must have had a heart attack.

If anybody knows the name of the Senator that has stated if the bill makes it to the Senate, he will stop proceedings to have the bill read...IN ITS ENTIRETY...please let me know. I want to contact his office and plead with him to do so. As well as contacting my Senators and asking them to do the same.

The Pelosi Bill Was Rammed Through on Saturday, But Sunday’s Coming

We’ve got to hold on to hope, and we’ve got to fight hard because Congressional action tonight just put America on a path toward an unrecognizable country.

The same government leaders that got us into the mortgage business and the car business are now getting us into the health care business.

Despite Americans’ decisive message last Tuesday that they reject the troubling path this country has been taking, Speaker Pelosi has broken her own promises of transparency to ram a health “care” bill through the House of Representatives just before midnight. Why did she push the 2,000 page bill this weekend? Was she perhaps afraid to give her peers and the constituents for whom she works the chance to actually read this monstrous bill carefully, if at all? Was she concerned that Americans might really digest the details of a bill that the Wall Street Journal has called “the worst piece of post-New Deal legislation ever introduced”?

This out-of-control bureaucratic mess will be disastrous for our economy, our small businesses, and our personal liberty. It will slam businesses at a time when we are at double-digit unemployment rates – the highest we’ve seen in a quarter of a century. This massive new bureaucracy will cost us and our children money we don’t have. It will rob Americans of more of our freedom and further hamper the free market.

Make no mistake: we’re on course to have government commandeer one-sixth of our economy. The people who gave us Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac now want to run our health care. Think about that.

All of us who value the sanctity of life are grateful for the success of the pro-life majority in the House this evening in its battle against federal funding of abortion in this bill, but it’s ironic because we were promised that abortion wasn’t covered in the bill to begin with. Our healthy distrust of these government leaders made us look deeper into the bill because unfortunately we knew better than to trust what they were saying. The victory tonight to amend the bill and eliminate that federal funding for abortion was great – because abortion is not health care. Now we can only hope that Rep. Stupak’s amendment will hold in the final bill, though the Democratic leadership has already refused to promise that it won’t be scrapped later.

We had been told there were no “death panels” in the bill either. But look closely at the provision mandating bureaucratic panels that will be calling the shots regarding who will receive government health care.

Look closely at provisions addressing illegal aliens’ health care coverage too.

Those of us who love freedom and believe in open and transparent government can only be dismayed by midnight action on a Saturday. Speaker Pelosi’s promise that Americans would have 72 hours to read the final bill before the vote was just another one of the D.C. establishment’s too-common political ploys. It’s broken promises like this that turn people off to politics and leave them disillusioned about the future of their country.

But despite this late-night maneuvering, many of us were paying close attention tonight. We’ll keep paying close attention. We need to let our legislators in Washington know that they still represent us, and that the majority of Americans are not in favor of the “reform” they are pushing. After all, this is still a country “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” We will make our voices heard. It’s on to the Senate now. Our legislators can listen now, or they can hear us in 2010. It’s their choice.

He was asked what provision of the Constitution authorized Congress to spend one nickel on health care. He cavalierly replied, “There’s nothing in the Constitution that says that the federal government has anything to do with most of the stuff we do."

At least that is my definition at the moment.

Hate Crimes Bill passes Senate

"Several religious groups have expressed concern that a hate-crimes law could be used to criminalize conservative speech relating to subjects such as abortion or homosexuality.

Attorney General Eric Holder has asserted that any federal hate-crimes law would be used only to prosecute violent acts based on bias, as opposed to the prosecution of speech based on controversial racial or religious beliefs."

Since when do I believe anything that comes out of this administration's mouth? Certainly not now...

I am sorry. I had said that this blog wasn't going to be just an "attack the POTUS and his cronies" forum, but I am just downright ANGRY right now. This country is being hijacked right away from us and we seemingly are powerless to STOP IT. All I know...for that God IS watching and HE IS STILL IN CONTROL. These puny politicians will one day be forced to bow their knees before Him and be judged by a RIGHTEOUS judge for what they are doing.

God forgive them. And God forgive me for the anger that is burning in my heart right now. I don't know why this one thing set me off, but it is the straw that finally broke the camel's back. Every crime is a 'hate crime'...give me a break! We know what this law is intended to do...Shut up the outcry against the abomination of homosexuality. Hate the sin...not the sinner. They just don't get it...

I assume the FLOTUS should be considered the very epitome of haute couture, but I just don't get it...WHY do you have to wear three different (what appears to me to be) pieces of costume jewelry on that dress? I know I am just a country hick from the boondocks who has NO IDEA how the other half lives, but come on! Am I missing something? I guess Oprah thinks she is suave...apparently OW didn't offer MO any fashion advice. Wonder if she wanted to...

I know this is totally a useless blog post, but it just BUGGED me. LOL

This blog post is TOTALLY stolen...

My purpose in beginning this blog was to show how Bible prophecy is being played out in our world today. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have been meaning to post more about the 'religion' and less of the 'politics' on this blog. For whatever reason, I just can't seem to find the time to research and convey my thoughts in a concise enough manner to do the topic justice...

Today, I found this GREAT POST over at ..."In A Handbasket" It is completely in tune with what I intended to do with my blog. Here it is, with some other items that will hopefully give an unbeliever something to think about. Or maybe just strengthen someone else's faith. I pray that some light bulb would go off for even one person who might happen to read this.

Buying Into Chrislam

"Chrislam, as the name suggests, is a growing movement wherein some Christians are seeking to find common ground with Muslims. Indeed, it actually seeks to combine Christianity with Islam. It is a syncretistic movement that speaks about "spirituality without boundaries."

Whenever you hear that sort of talk, you should start heading for the hills.

That is exactly what we find in some leftist Christian circles, today. Tony Campolo, for example, has argued that "interfaith prayers and even mystical unions are critical for all true peacemakers." And given that a leftist version of "social justice" seems to be the most important agenda item for Campolo, it is not surprising that he can praise Islam in these terms: "When it comes to what is ultimately important, the Muslim community's sense of commitment to the poor is exactly in tune with where Jesus is in the 25th chapter of Matthew."

More recently, emerging church movement leader Brian McLaren has written a five part blog entry on why Christians should join with Muslims in celebrating Ramadan. In it he said, "We as Christians humbly seek to join Muslims in this observance of Ramadan as a God-honouring expression of peace, fellowship and neighbourliness."

Once again, the emphasis is on getting along; harmony and unity. The problem is that both of these faiths are ultimately evangelistic, exclusive and mutually incompatible. The heart of the Christian truth claim is that Jesus is God's Son, sent to save us from our sins by his crucifixion, death and resurrection. Islam claims that it is blasphemous to say that God has a Son, and they believe that Jesus' death was faked and that the resurrection was a lie.

How can two faiths get along when they are at heart directly opposed to each other?

Ultimately, they can't. Not unless one is watered down to the point of being meaningless. Which is exactly what the leftist Christian leaders are doing.

Christians engaged in the "interfaith" movement tend to engage in at least three harmful activities. (Harmful to the purposes of Christianity). One, they downplay and minimize the truth claims of Biblical Christianity. Two, they downplay and minimize the horrendous Muslim persecution of Christians all around the world, while there is no equivalent Christian persecution of Muslims. And Three, they fail in the most important calling of Christians: to evangelize and disciple all nations.

For all the talk of harmony, unity and friendship, the Chrislam movement is a move in the wrong direction. I, for one, will have nothing to do with it, and I hope all serious followers of Christianity will avoid it like the plague."

As I commented on her post, Tony Blair and Rick Warren are totally touting "Interfaithism". We are seeing the beginnings of the 'one world religion' to go along with the 'one world government' and 'one world currency' that will be in practice in the day of the Anti-christ.

Probably old news by now...

I LOVE the internet and being able to read the news via blogs instead of (in conjunction with) the MSM. Tonight on Lou Dobbs, someone (sorry, can't remember who...was making dinner) made the point that when we were young, there were only 3 major news outlets who reported on the same news items in probably the same order every evening. What we have now...unlimited news at our fingertips...has the power to literally change current events.

Tea Party Thoughts...9/12/09

Well...I am overjoyed by the reports I am STRAINING to hear today... C-Span, the blogs and an English paper are doing the best coverage, so far.

Looks like the 9/12/09 Tea Party was a smashing success, in terms of turnout. Now, let's see if Washington is listening. I would venture a guess that even though MSM is turning a deaf ear for the purpose of keeping the sheeple uninformed (or MIS-informed), the powers that be are VERY KEENLY aware of just how much outrage was expressed today. The question is, will they act on what they are hearing? Or will this all be for naught...

I found this bit of information over at "America's Right", where my Congressman, Mike Pence was named. Seems he was at the party and had some interesting things to say. Now, it is common knowledge that a few years ago, I sent some rather scathing emails and made some pretty irrate phone calls to Mr. Pence's office for his stance on illegal amnesty...
But it looks as if I may re-evaluate Mr. Pence in light of today's remarks: I voted for Ron Paul last election, but if the Republicans are serious about changing this country...well, let's just say, we shall be watching and listening very intently.

I am Mike Pence. I am from Indiana, and it is an honor to welcome the largest gathering of conservatives in American history to your nation’s capitol. There are some politicians who think of you people as astroturf. Un-American. I’ve got to be honest with you, after nine years of fighting runaway spending here on this hill, you people look like the cavalry to me. I’ve got to be honest with you, I think Members of Congress should read major bills, but I’d be just as happy if some of them read this just a little more often – the Constitution of the United States.You know, there is a lot of good stuff in there and it reminds us that we are a nation led by the people, and not the elites and the bureaucrats and the politicians. It reminds us that the powers not delegated to the federal government by the Constitution are reserved to the states or to the people.And nowhere in our Constitution can you find the word ‘czar.’ It is time Washington, D.C. became a No Czar Zone. The American people are not happy. But it is not just about dollars and cents. It is about who we are as a nation. As Ronald Reagan said in 1964, it’s about whether ‘we abandon the American Revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capital can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.’ My money is on the American people. My money is on freedom. My money is on the future. This great national Capitol is filled with memorials to freedom’s heroes. Americans whose faces are carved in bronze, whose names adorn monuments, and just across that river, lie the remains of Americans who paid freedom’s price so we could gather here today. In their time, they did freedom’s work as citizens and patriots. Now it’s our turn.Let us do as those great Americans we remember in this city have done before: let us stand and fight for freedom.
