It has been a long, long time since I blogged. Facebook has been keeping my rapt attention. But I am starting to miss "conversing" with my old "blogging buds".

Are These The "Last Days"?

I don't know for sure. Nobody does. The Bible says "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." [Matthew 24:36]

However, Jesus tells us through His Word, even though we can't pinpoint the time of His return, we ARE to watch for the signs..."Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." [Matthew 24: 32,33]

In the past few days we have heard the news of dead birds and fish happening for no apparent reason. At first, it was reported in Arkansas and then Louisiana. Now, it seems as if it is occuring all over the globe! I find it very interesting that the lame stream media isn't concentrating more on these phenomena. It seems to be leaking out, a little at a time, via the internet. The following are only 3 of MANY links you can find on the web.

I have a daughter, 4 stepdaughters and one step granddaughter. My daughter and one stepdaughter were married last year. Another stepdaughter is engaged and scheduled to wed in June of this year. They are full of hope for their new lives and their future childrens' lives. When I was their age, I felt the same way. I didn't want to hear that Jesus would soon return. I wanted the chance to live out my life, become a wife and mother and see my children grow up. I understand completely and yet I don't know how to answer their questions other than, "Have faith! Trust God! Be ready!" The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:34, "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." These words should comfort us in these days when we see so much evil, hatred, violence and strange occurances in the world.

So, are we living in the last days? There are so many prophecies from the Bible that seem to be fulfilling right before our eyes. Please don't just bury your head in the sand because you are fearful.

The Bible tells us to "Fear not!" IF the Bible is true (and that is something each one of us has to determine in his own heart and mind) then many more stange and unusual things are going to occur in the future. And IF the Bible is true, the biggest occurrence in human history will be the Rapture. (I wonder how the government will try and explain THAT away! LOL) As believers, we should use the happenings we see everyday as a reason to lean more fully upon Him...the One who has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. When even "the powers that be" have no idea what is going on, rest assured we have a Heavenly Father who knows ALL and is STILL in control! Thank Him, and give Him praise, for He IS worthy!

{Author's note: It is true that since I have discovered Facebook, I haven't blogged on either of my blogs with any regularity. I do check my blog links daily to see what is happening in the world. I find it much more enjoyable (and palatable) to hear the news of the day in this fashion. But this story is newsworthy and timely for my blog. Politics and religion. It is interesting to me to see how the lame stream media is putting this news out. If it wasn't for the net, I wouldn't have heard about any animal deaths other than in Louisiana and Arkansas. Is this a sign of the end? Personally, I believe it is. But even if it isn't, our "ends" may happen at any time. Maybe today. No man is promised tomorrow...Are you ready to meet the Savior and judge of this world? I pray you are. }

...I only use this blog to check in on other bloggers' views of the news of the day. This must be so, for I haven't blogged here (or my other blog) since January! I am addicted to Facebook, where it is so much easier to just give a quick insight into something which I feel is important and that others need to hear about. But for some reason, I decided to blog here today.

This is the first time this information has been put into cyberspace, but 3 weeks ago yesterday, I and another co-worker lost our jobs. I had been employed with that hospital for 12 years. The first 8 as an office manager for a pediatric office, and the last 4 as a physician coder. I find it very ironic that the very man who told us 2 years ago, "No one will touch our billing unless they are a certified coder!" is the very same man who now finds that little detail unimportant. The very same man who had me terrified 2 years ago that if I didn't pass my certification test, I would find myself unemployed, is the same man who decided my job wasn't needed anymore. (I DID pass that test after shedding of much blood, sweat and tears...LINK))

Don't get me wrong. I am not coming here feeling sorry for myself. On the contrary. I realize I have joined the ranks of millions of others who have lost their jobs due to "tough economic times". Funny how those words take on a different meaning when it becomes personal...I have a peace about this change of fortune...more than I would ever have thought possible. My only child is getting married next month and 2 step-daughters have their wedding dates set as well, so the timing couldn't have been worse, financially! But I am excited to see where the Lord is going to lead me this time. I am excited because I know He has my best interests at heart (even though I don't deserve His best!) and despite the money I was making in my last job... (the best pay rate I ever had or ever hope to have in this depressed economy with my limited training)... I sincerely did not like the work I was doing. (So be careful what you wish for! LOL) It wasn't a job I chose for myself. Now I see the possibilities are endless, in spite of my age. Not monetarily, but at least in terms of personal fulfillment.

Now that THAT is out of the way, here is the real reason for my blog post today. How many of you know Peter and/or Catherine Marshall? Catherine Marshall is the woman who wrote the novel "Christy", which was based on her mother's life. She wrote several other books, one of which, "The Helper", is a personal favorite of mine. Catherine was married to Peter Marshall, a well known minister in his day, who also served as Chaplain of the US Senate in the late 40's. I wanted to share this clip from the movie, "A Man Called Peter", (a movie only 2 years older than myself) which is based on the lives of Peter and Catherine Marshall. In this clip, Catherine (who has been in love with Peter for 2 years, merely by hearing his sermons) is called on to speak at a youth rally. Peter finally sees Catherine for the remarkable young woman she was.

This movie makes me yearn for simpler times...

Times our children and grandchildren will never know.

A Republican in Massachusetts...in the seat held by Teddy Kennedy for years. And years. And years. WOW. What a day. The people spoke. The noise will continue to reverberate right up until the next election!

Now, the real fight begins. Obama and the Dems are threatening to not seat Brown, pass the health care bill as is, have Obama sign it and then "fix it". If they try that, I cannot imagine the outcry from the people.

A new year...a new start

Since I first started this blog (my second) it has never really meshed into what I intended it to be. My idea for this blog was to take the "Politics" that I am so consumed with and combine them with the "Religion" aspect that I so firmly believe go hand in hand. For whatever reason, I have never gotten these two combined in the way I envisioned. Maybe this year...

I have linked to several "Political" blogs (for which I am grateful! I much prefer getting my news "hot off the blogs") and to some "Religious" ones. I am always delighted (and encouraged) when I find one that perfectly mixes my two passions.

At any rate, it is my wish and prayer that 2010 becomes a year that I personally become much more enamored of my Lord and Savior. I turn 57 on Sunday. Maybe it is just my age or perhaps the signs of the times that I see happening in our world which just SCREAM that the words of the Bible are true. Maybe it is that this upcoming year holds some major changes for my loved ones. Whatever the reason, I feel a sense of urgency about 2010. I believe with all my heart we are careening toward the end of time as we know it. NOT the end of the world. This world is not destined to end. Change, yes. End, no. {This is a discussion for another day...}

For this new year, I will endeavor to focus more on the "Religion" aspect of "Politics and Religion" instead of the emphasis I placed last year on the "Politics". Maybe that is why this blog did not do what it was born to do. I believe I had the emphasis on the wrong person. God is much more important than the POTUS...

Here are the words of the Apostle Paul, spoken in Romans 1...starting with verse 16

These are the words of the Holy Bible...the New King James Version. If anyone who reads them cannot see that this is exactly the state of the world today...there is NOTHING new under the sun {Ecclesiastes 1:9}...then I would be amazed. I realize there will be people who may read this blog and may be completely turned off to the voice of the Lord. But if even ONE person can read His words and believe...then God is glorified and I will have done what I intended.

...by the stealth and deception I witnessed last night.

Before I go on, let me state that I am NOT BEING insensitive to millions of Americans with no health care. MANY, MANY Americans...including yours truly...are just one health care catastrophe away from total disaster. It is a given that the health care system in this country needs to be overhauled. I am not opposed to that. What I AM opposed to, however, is that overhaul not only being served to me on a Socialist plate, but having something rammed down my throat. Moreover, the people doing the ramming have no idea what it even entails! Simply maddening...

So much for Pelosi's promise to have the bill available for 72 hours on the net. So much for ANY promise the progressives have made. What I witnessed late last night on C-Span made me grieve for my country.

At least, for now, the abortion funding provision of the bill was voted down. And the bill itself passed by such a narrow margin, Pelosi and her poodles must have had a heart attack.

If anybody knows the name of the Senator that has stated if the bill makes it to the Senate, he will stop proceedings to have the bill read...IN ITS ENTIRETY...please let me know. I want to contact his office and plead with him to do so. As well as contacting my Senators and asking them to do the same.

The Pelosi Bill Was Rammed Through on Saturday, But Sunday’s Coming

We’ve got to hold on to hope, and we’ve got to fight hard because Congressional action tonight just put America on a path toward an unrecognizable country.

The same government leaders that got us into the mortgage business and the car business are now getting us into the health care business.

Despite Americans’ decisive message last Tuesday that they reject the troubling path this country has been taking, Speaker Pelosi has broken her own promises of transparency to ram a health “care” bill through the House of Representatives just before midnight. Why did she push the 2,000 page bill this weekend? Was she perhaps afraid to give her peers and the constituents for whom she works the chance to actually read this monstrous bill carefully, if at all? Was she concerned that Americans might really digest the details of a bill that the Wall Street Journal has called “the worst piece of post-New Deal legislation ever introduced”?

This out-of-control bureaucratic mess will be disastrous for our economy, our small businesses, and our personal liberty. It will slam businesses at a time when we are at double-digit unemployment rates – the highest we’ve seen in a quarter of a century. This massive new bureaucracy will cost us and our children money we don’t have. It will rob Americans of more of our freedom and further hamper the free market.

Make no mistake: we’re on course to have government commandeer one-sixth of our economy. The people who gave us Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac now want to run our health care. Think about that.

All of us who value the sanctity of life are grateful for the success of the pro-life majority in the House this evening in its battle against federal funding of abortion in this bill, but it’s ironic because we were promised that abortion wasn’t covered in the bill to begin with. Our healthy distrust of these government leaders made us look deeper into the bill because unfortunately we knew better than to trust what they were saying. The victory tonight to amend the bill and eliminate that federal funding for abortion was great – because abortion is not health care. Now we can only hope that Rep. Stupak’s amendment will hold in the final bill, though the Democratic leadership has already refused to promise that it won’t be scrapped later.

We had been told there were no “death panels” in the bill either. But look closely at the provision mandating bureaucratic panels that will be calling the shots regarding who will receive government health care.

Look closely at provisions addressing illegal aliens’ health care coverage too.

Those of us who love freedom and believe in open and transparent government can only be dismayed by midnight action on a Saturday. Speaker Pelosi’s promise that Americans would have 72 hours to read the final bill before the vote was just another one of the D.C. establishment’s too-common political ploys. It’s broken promises like this that turn people off to politics and leave them disillusioned about the future of their country.

But despite this late-night maneuvering, many of us were paying close attention tonight. We’ll keep paying close attention. We need to let our legislators in Washington know that they still represent us, and that the majority of Americans are not in favor of the “reform” they are pushing. After all, this is still a country “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” We will make our voices heard. It’s on to the Senate now. Our legislators can listen now, or they can hear us in 2010. It’s their choice.

Hate Crimes Bill passes Senate

"Several religious groups have expressed concern that a hate-crimes law could be used to criminalize conservative speech relating to subjects such as abortion or homosexuality.

Attorney General Eric Holder has asserted that any federal hate-crimes law would be used only to prosecute violent acts based on bias, as opposed to the prosecution of speech based on controversial racial or religious beliefs."

Since when do I believe anything that comes out of this administration's mouth? Certainly not now...

I am sorry. I had said that this blog wasn't going to be just an "attack the POTUS and his cronies" forum, but I am just downright ANGRY right now. This country is being hijacked right away from us and we seemingly are powerless to STOP IT. All I know...for certain...is that God IS watching and HE IS STILL IN CONTROL. These puny politicians will one day be forced to bow their knees before Him and be judged by a RIGHTEOUS judge for what they are doing.

God forgive them. And God forgive me for the anger that is burning in my heart right now. I don't know why this one thing set me off, but it is the straw that finally broke the camel's back. Every crime is a 'hate crime'...give me a break! We know what this law is intended to do...Shut up the outcry against the abomination of homosexuality. Hate the sin...not the sinner. They just don't get it...

My purpose in beginning this blog was to show how Bible prophecy is being played out in our world today. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have been meaning to post more about the 'religion' and less of the 'politics' on this blog. For whatever reason, I just can't seem to find the time to research and convey my thoughts in a concise enough manner to do the topic justice...

Today, I found this GREAT POST over at ..."In A Handbasket" It is completely in tune with what I intended to do with my blog. Here it is, with some other items that will hopefully give an unbeliever something to think about. Or maybe just strengthen someone else's faith. I pray that some light bulb would go off for even one person who might happen to read this.

Buying Into Chrislam

"Chrislam, as the name suggests, is a growing movement wherein some Christians are seeking to find common ground with Muslims. Indeed, it actually seeks to combine Christianity with Islam. It is a syncretistic movement that speaks about "spirituality without boundaries."

Whenever you hear that sort of talk, you should start heading for the hills.

That is exactly what we find in some leftist Christian circles, today. Tony Campolo, for example, has argued that "interfaith prayers and even mystical unions are critical for all true peacemakers." And given that a leftist version of "social justice" seems to be the most important agenda item for Campolo, it is not surprising that he can praise Islam in these terms: "When it comes to what is ultimately important, the Muslim community's sense of commitment to the poor is exactly in tune with where Jesus is in the 25th chapter of Matthew."

More recently, emerging church movement leader Brian McLaren has written a five part blog entry on why Christians should join with Muslims in celebrating Ramadan. In it he said, "We as Christians humbly seek to join Muslims in this observance of Ramadan as a God-honouring expression of peace, fellowship and neighbourliness."

Once again, the emphasis is on getting along; harmony and unity. The problem is that both of these faiths are ultimately evangelistic, exclusive and mutually incompatible. The heart of the Christian truth claim is that Jesus is God's Son, sent to save us from our sins by his crucifixion, death and resurrection. Islam claims that it is blasphemous to say that God has a Son, and they believe that Jesus' death was faked and that the resurrection was a lie.

How can two faiths get along when they are at heart directly opposed to each other?

Ultimately, they can't. Not unless one is watered down to the point of being meaningless. Which is exactly what the leftist Christian leaders are doing.

Christians engaged in the "interfaith" movement tend to engage in at least three harmful activities. (Harmful to the purposes of Christianity). One, they downplay and minimize the truth claims of Biblical Christianity. Two, they downplay and minimize the horrendous Muslim persecution of Christians all around the world, while there is no equivalent Christian persecution of Muslims. And Three, they fail in the most important calling of Christians: to evangelize and disciple all nations.

For all the talk of harmony, unity and friendship, the Chrislam movement is a move in the wrong direction. I, for one, will have nothing to do with it, and I hope all serious followers of Christianity will avoid it like the plague."

As I commented on her post, Tony Blair and Rick Warren are totally touting "Interfaithism". We are seeing the beginnings of the 'one world religion' to go along with the 'one world government' and 'one world currency' that will be in practice in the day of the Anti-christ.

I LOVE the internet and being able to read the news via blogs instead of (in conjunction with) the MSM. Tonight on Lou Dobbs, someone (sorry, can't remember who...was making dinner) made the point that when we were young, there were only 3 major news outlets who reported on the same news items in probably the same order every evening. What we have now...unlimited news at our fingertips...has the power to literally change current events.

Well...I am overjoyed by the reports I am STRAINING to hear today... C-Span, the blogs and an English paper are doing the best coverage, so far.

Looks like the 9/12/09 Tea Party was a smashing success, in terms of turnout. Now, let's see if Washington is listening. I would venture a guess that even though MSM is turning a deaf ear for the purpose of keeping the sheeple uninformed (or MIS-informed), the powers that be are VERY KEENLY aware of just how much outrage was expressed today. The question is, will they act on what they are hearing? Or will this all be for naught...

I found this bit of information over at "America's Right", where my Congressman, Mike Pence was named. Seems he was at the party and had some interesting things to say. Now, it is common knowledge that a few years ago, I sent some rather scathing emails and made some pretty irrate phone calls to Mr. Pence's office for his stance on illegal amnesty...

But it looks as if I may re-evaluate Mr. Pence in light of today's remarks: I voted for Ron Paul last election, but if the Republicans are serious about changing this country...well, let's just say, we shall be watching and listening very intently.

Just finished watching "the last desperate gasp" by B.O. to push Obamacare. Waiting to hear which elected official shouted out, "YOU LIE" during the speech. I can't remember exactly what The President was referring to. I believe it was the point right between "we won't cut health care for our Seniors", and "we won't fund abortion".

Just taking a minute from my Labor Day/wedding anniversary weekend to do a quick blog post...

Last night, Jim and I were watching a Tucker Carlson special, "Do You Know What Textbooks Your Children Are Really Reading?" on Fox. It was VERY GOOD and I hope you all caught it. It is on You Tube in 9 minute segments, at least for now. Anyway, at one point I became so enraged I started SCREAMING at the TV. It was when Dr. Gregory Starrett was speaking. The segment involved the "Islamic Saudi Academy" (a school in Virgina which is funded by Saudi Arabia) and this joker was brought in as one of two so called "experts", whose purpose was to find out what exactly was being taught there.

At around 2:05 of this clip, he is speaking and uses the phrase "causal agent", when he suddenly stops, rolls his eyes and says, "let me re-phrase that for a Fox cable news audience."

I was stunned. These people must REALLY think we ARE neanderthals. Amazing...

Once again, it has been quite awhile since my last post...{Having your only child become engaged puts the "focus" elsewhere, let me tell ya!}

But I can't stay unfocused for long! My thoughts keep drifting back to the fight that is raging in this country. I have been thinking about this blog post for several days now. When I say "back to basics", I mean I want to stop and think about why I started this blog in the first place...

I don't know if any of you have noticed the "shoutout" I gave to the "Politics and Religion" radio show on the right of my blog. I listen to Irvin Baxter's radio/news show everyday. He (specifically, the show) was my inspiration for starting this blog at all. I was noticing that I was printing more and more political posts on my first blog and decided to create one where it would be all politics, combined with my religious beliefs...for me, the two cannot be separated.

One day, a caller asked Rev. Baxter how he [the caller] could use his blog to "get the message out" that we are living in the endtimes. Rev. Baxter replied something along the lines of, "Don't be completely negative. It is so easy to throw blame around, but what we are concerned with involves so much more than that."

I agree. I have several blogs that I read with the sole intent of finding out what is going on with our government. I get much more informative and truthful reporting from them than I could ever hope to get from the MSM! {Thank God for the internet as it stands right now. Don't know how much longer it will be available, free and/or unmonitored...}

So, with all that being said, I hope to post not just the latest information that we all need to know concerning what our "elected officials" are doing for us. {uh, make that TO us...} I hope to be able to show the connection between the news that is occuring right now and what the Bible has to say about it. And yes, the Bible is just as timely as the morning news or the refresh button here on the net. When we kick and scream and cry and wring our hands at what we see happening, (myself included), we need to take a big, deep cleansing breath and remember that God is in complete control.

Some of my friends ask, "If you believe God is in control, then why do you get so angry and upset with the government? Why not just wake up every morning and just 'be happy'?" Fair question...I guess I can only say that it is not in my makeup to just "do nothing". I don't believe God wants us to just "do nothing". Yes, we are to pray for our leaders and for our country and its' morals...or lack thereof. But I also think, IF we can turn the tide, then we should at least try. We turned the tide when we broke away from England's tyranny, and, with God's blessing, we could do it again. I don't know. It may be too late. But I am not giving up...

My intent with this blog is to point out that the events going on in the world have been foretold by the Bible and hopefully, as a result, someone might make the connection. The light bulb might come on and that person would come to know the Lord, rest in His promises, and secure eternal salvation from the wrath to come.

And folks, make no mistake. It IS coming...

I realize talking about Jesus is not politically correct. I realize talking about the "endtimes" can put me on a Homeland Security list somewhere as being a right wing extremist and therefore dangerous to our country. But so what? Jesus Christ Himself was labeled in much the same way...

{I realize the hot topic this evening will be B.O.'s desperate push on TV tonight for so called, "Health Care Reform", but I couldn't let this tidbit go by...}

While watching Glen Beck tonight, he pointed out some things about B.O.'s pick for "Regulatory Czar", which according to The Center for Consumer Freedom's David Martosko, a Sunstein critic, "He {the regulatory czar} is the gatekeeper between the president and the secretaries," he said, noting that "as a regulatory czar, he won't be a judge or a legislator, so he cannot make laws. ... What he can do is nudge the departments in the direction of his philosophy," which is very much in line with "hard core animal rights zealots." {AMONG OTHER THINGS...}

Apparently, Mr. Sunstein is a huge animal rights activist, who believes animals have the right to file lawsuits in American courts! Further, according to the article, "Writer Kyle Smith suggested Sunstein threatens to tweak libel laws for the Internet and make online writers, particularly bloggers, legally responsible for falsehoods and rumors that get generated in cyberspace.
"Sunstein calls for a 'notice and take down' law that would require bloggers and service providers to 'take down falsehoods upon notice,' even those made by commenters -- but without apparent penalty," Smith wrote. "How long would it take for a court to sort out the truth? (Presidential daughters) Sasha and Malia will be running for president by then. Nobody will care anymore. But it will give politicians the ability to tie up their online critics in court."

Also, according to Glen Beck this evening, Mr. Sunstein co-authored a book with Richard Thaler titled, "Nudge". A review I found about it reads as follows... "This is an engaging, informative, and thoroughly delightful book. Thaler and Sunstein provide important lessons for structuring social policies so that people still have complete choice over their own actions, but are gently nudged to do what is in their own best interests. Well done." link

Further, according to Beck, Mr. Sunstein seems to be an admirer of one Peter Singer who wrote "Animal Liberation". According to Wikipedia (hey, don't anybody shoot me, now...if that site isn't credible enough for you, at least investigate on your own LOL!) "He argues that animals should have rights based on their ability to feel pain more than their intelligence. In particular, he argues that while animals show lower intelligence than the average human, many severely retarded humans show equally diminished, if not lower, mental capacity, and intelligence therefore does not provide a basis for providing nonhuman animals any less consideration than such retarded humans".

But what is CHILLING to me is his views on human life and abortion...

"Singer argues that newborns similarly lack the essential characteristics of personhood — "rationality, autonomy, and self-consciousness'— and therefore "killing a newborn baby is never equivalent to killing a person, that is, a being who wants to go on living."

Also, "Singer classifies euthanasia as voluntary, involuntary, or non-voluntary".

It has been quite awhile since I posted on this blog. My daughter's engagement (which you can read about here) has taken my mind off politics for a couple weeks. (But my mind is definitely NOT off religion...not a day goes by that God doesn't enter my thoughts!)

I had decided when I did get back to posting here, I was going to come at it with a new slant. I still plan on doing that. But in the meantime, I did want to post about this.

I am sure most people reading this blog also read World Net Daily, which is one of my favorite sources of news. If you do, then you probably saw the article about Walter Cronkite having a "radical agenda". This is the first I had heard of that. Really, all I knew about him was the way he cried when he told us President Kennedy was dead. And having him in our living rooms, watching together as we landed on the moon (still haven't made my mind up on that one. Sorry.) Watching both events in glorious black and white TV...I can still see his face. He was a dinner guest every evening in our home as we ate our pot roast while watching images of Vietnam. (How did we keep from going mad??????)

So, imagine my suprize when I read the words spoken by Mr. Cronkite in 1989. Here is an excerpt from the WND article:

"After leaving his position with CBS, Cronkite's political activism and offbeat ideas had no restraints.

In 1989, Cronkite spoke to a dinner organized by People for the American Way, a group founded by Norman Lear. His candid politics surprised even that audience.

"I know liberalism isn't dead in this country," he said. "It simply has, temporarily we hope, lost its voice."

The article further states,

In 1999, he appeared at the United Nations to accept the Norman Cousins Global Governance Award from the World Federalists Association. He told those assembled, including Hillary Rodham Clinton, that the first step toward achieving a one-world government – his personal dream – is to strengthen the United Nations.

"It seems to many of us that if we are to avoid the eventual catastrophic world conflict we must strengthen the United Nations as a first step toward a world government patterned after our own government with a legislature, executive and judiciary, and police to enforce its international laws and keep the peace," he said. Wow! Who knew? Who knew Walter was a "New World Order" type of guy? I sure didn't. Back then, politics held no interest for me. These days, the Bible and world events and the people who shape them go hand in hand...

Yesterday, my only child was the maid of honor at what turned out to be a beautiful outdoor wedding. NOTHING could have made me miss seeing her in it...except for what has been the thorn in my side for years...migraines. I tried so hard to not be sick. But nothing worked. I ended up not being able to go. Because of that, I spent the bulk of the day questioning God and asking, "Why? Why, today of all days???" I felt so sorry for myself! My husband attended and brought back pictures, which made me cry even harder. Even though I get angry at my heavenly Father...even though I scream and cry and throw temper tantrums sometimes, I can never remain angry at Him for long. I always come back to the realization that He is the ONLY one who truly loves me unconditionally, now and forever, no matter what I do, say or think. He reminded me of others who are in so much more pain...not just for a day or two, here and there. God also reminded me His ways are not my ways. In this, and in all things...

Here are some pics of what I missed yesterday, but thank God I have a wonderful husband who was able to go and at least get these for me. (Thank you, Jim...for everything!)

I guess because I was so depressed yesterday...and still didn't feel well enough to go church this morning...when I saw this old movie ("Good Morning, Vietnam"), while channel surfing, it made me very sad when I viewed this particular part. Even after all these years and all the devastation, we haven't learned one single thing.

Rereading this, it seems strange to post such a happy event with such a sorrowful one. The movie clip reminded me of what is going on in Iran right now and I just wanted to reiterate how seemingly we humans are doomed to repeat the past without ever learning anything. It also serves as a reminder that only God has control over ALL the madness! He is with us in our happiness... and our sadness.

(My brain is still a little "fuzzy", so I HOPE all these ramblings make some semblance of sense!)

This is an email from a Michigan Dodge Dealer: A DODGE DEALER’S PERSPECTIVE May 22, 2009

As a loyal and successful Dodge Dealer for over 22 years it is not a big surprise that given the current economy, the marketplace may not support the number of Dealers presently representing Chrysler Corporation products. However, the methodology Chrysler Corporation is attempting to utilize to reduce its Dealer body is unlawful, unconstitutional, un-American and grossly unfair. What Chrysler Corporation is attempting to do, under President Obama’s direction, is to use the United States Bankruptcy Court in New York to terminate 789 Dodge Chrysler Dealer Franchise Ag reements, arbitrarily, capriciously, and without due process of law. The so called “criteria” establishing which Dealers will be terminated is seriously flawed and “non-transparent”. Many of the Dodge/Chrysler Dealers are profitable, employ many quality employees, support their communities and provide the necessary competition to insure that customers receive competitively priced vehicles. By reducing the number of automobile Dealers you are certain to reduce competition and the undesired effect will be the increased prices that Americans will ultimately pay for the price of a car. Additionally, Chrysler is proposing to take away my franchise without compensating me for its value. I have invested millions of dollars to acquire the Dodge franchise, the Dealership facility and the real estate. Chrysler proposes to transfer my franchise and all the goodwill I created over a 22 year span to a Chrysler competitor, across the street, free of charge, without compensating me one cent. This is occurring despite my Tamaroff Dodge Dealership continuously achieving high sales, high customer satisfaction index ratings, a 5-star Dealer status (Chrysler’s highest achievement award), and over 22 years having built a loyal and satisfied customer base. It is like “Crystal Night” in Nazi Germany in 1938, but instead of the Nazis seizing “private property” without due process of law and compensation, Chrysler and President Obama are using the power of a Federal Bankruptcy Judge to trample and run roughshod over the rights of 789 Dodge/Chrysler Dealers. By using the power and governmental action of the Federal Bankruptcy Court, Chrysler and President Obama are purposely avoiding all state laws and some federal laws which were specifically designed by lawmakers to protect the Dealer from the overwhelming power of the manufacturer. Furthermore, where is the due process for an unconstitutional taking of my franchise rights without just compensation? My fellow Americans, I am a WWII veteran and former P.O.W. who risked my life for our country to defeat National Socialism and Hitler’s tyrannical Nazi regime. Never in my entire 82 years (50 years as an auto dealer and mechanical engineer) would I have anticipated the President of the United States and an appointed Federal Bankruptcy Judge trampling on my rights, seizing my property and potentially causing me to go into bankruptcy and in the process acting as instruments of FACISM. President Obama, is this the change you promised the American people? Where is the transparency you promised on the campaign trial? To add insult to injury, Chrysler Corporation, at this date, will not buy back any of the Dealers’ new car inventory; inventory they pushed on the Dealers in the last 90 days threatening them that if they did not purchase the cars from Chrysler they would be remembered come “termination day.” Finally, the worst point about this “Executive Branch sponsored taking” is the painful effect of laying off our people, many of whom have been with our company since the beginning. They are like family. It is like throwing your kids out on the street, with no job, no money, and no health care. It is a heartbreaking experience for the employees, their families and for me. Recently, President Obama made a public statement that he is standing by the Dealers . . . Yes, he is standing on their graves. Where is his leadership and foresight as he rushes to accomplish his agenda at the expense of 789 Dodge/Chrysler Dealers and their employees? President Obama and the Obama administration are directly responsible for orchestrating this ill conceived plan. My fellow Americans, WAKE UP before you lose your livelihood and private property without just compensation. If the Executive Branch and Judicial Branch can successfully complete this illegal seizure of property and transfer of wealth from one Dealer to another, then is any American’s private property safe from unlawful government seizure? As the great Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher once said, “The problem with socialism is sooner or later you run out of the other guy’s money.” God Bless our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and Our Great Country.

I don't know about you, but my heart ached for this gentleman who is just one of hundreds of AMERICAN CITIZENS being tossed aside by the Obama machine...

Man, the blogs are BUZZING tonight over the decision of ABC to air their evening news with Charlie Gibson on June 24th from the Blue Room inside the White House. Then, the network plans a primetime special -- 'Prescription for America' -- originating from the East Room, and will exclude opposing voices on the debate.

WOW. I really don't like the sound of that...Do you? It's not that I just don't like the sound of it...I LITERALLY CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!! I cannot believe what I see going on in this country at breakneck speed...

Here is the letter that Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay sent to ABC News:

"Dear Mr. Westin: As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC's astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming. Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party's opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers. In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime. Respectfully, Ken McKay Republican National Committee Chief of Staff"

Here is ABC's reply:

I am in receipt of your letter of June 15, 2009 and wanted to respond to a number of false premises you raise regarding our ongoing and upcoming coverage of health care.
I hope we can all agree that a robust debate of health care issues and potential policies is in order.
To that end, ABC News announced plans to broadcast a primetime hour from the White House devoted to exploring and probing the President's position and giving voice to questions and criticisms of that position. We hope that any American concerned about health care will find our efforts to be informative, fair and civil. Second, ABC News prides itself on covering all sides of important issues and asking direct questions of all newsmakers -- of all political persuasions -- even when others have taken a more partisan approach and even in the face of criticism from extremes on both ends of the political spectrum. ABC News is looking for the most thoughtful and diverse voices on this issue. ABC News alone will select those who will be in the audience asking questions of the president. Like any programs we broadcast, ABC News will have complete editorial control. To suggest otherwise is quite unfair to both our journalists and our audience. Third, there already has been extensive coverage of the upcoming health care debates, on ABC and elsewhere, and there will be much, much more. Indeed, we've already had many critics of the President's health care proposals on the air – and that’s before a real plan has even been put before the country. In the end, no one watching, listening to, or reading ABC News will lack for an understanding of all sides of these important questions.

How about you? Aren't you curious as to whether or nor our current president is legally qualified to hold that office? Since he and the liberals... (oh, and Dubya Bush, for that matter...not much difference that I can see between the two when it comes to demolishing the constitution...)

...when they seemed hell bent on ignoring the rule of law, why should they care if the "rules were bent" in this matter? After all, it is for the good of ALL, right?

Interestingly enough, the 3 major sources of outdoor advertising (Clear Channel, CBS and Lamar advertising) have refused to let this message be seen on their billboards.

Well, Robert Gibbs and the liberal media seem to take this as a highly laughable matter... (sorry about the advertising...)

If the person who is responsible for plunging this country into massive debt that will take generations to pay off (if it is even possible to ever do so) wasn't even legally elected, well, I for one want to know about it! Trouble is, unless more people DEMAND the truth, we never will...

My new blog...AKA..."come out and be ye separate"

I have been thinking for awhile now about starting a new blog...one that will be a totally separate place in which to house my more controversial posts...

I have named my new blog "POLITICS AND RELIGION".

(okay, so it isn't original, but it is controversial. A lot of people think these two things should never be discussed. Not only do I plan on discussing them, but I intend to show how they are absolutely intertwined. In my opinion, if you are reading headlines, you are reading the end of the Bible!)

I hope you will join me on both my blogs...one may suit your fancy more than another, but they are both "me".

I am going to initiate my new blog with some 'toons I found tonight...(if you are having trouble reading them, just double click to get a better view)

My new blog will continue to evolve and be a work in progress. I hope someone out there will be enlightened, enraged, but most of all encouraged in the knowledge that our God is in control of this mess and He is COMING SOON FOR HIS OWN!!!
